Undergraduate Admission Requirements


To gain entry into an undergraduate degree, applicants are expected to have:

Academic Reference: One recommendation from a teacher, lecturer, or school official.

Academic Qualifications: Completion of senior secondary school (WAEC, NECO, or equivalent) with strong results.

A-Levels / Foundation / Diploma: For direct entry, applicants may need A-Levels or a recognized foundation diploma.

English Language Proficiency:

IELTS overall score of 6.0 (with no band below 5.5)

Or WAEC/NECO English Grade C or above (for English-speaking countries such as Nigeria).

Personal Statement: A brief essay explaining your interest in your chosen course and future goals.

Postgraduate (Master’s) Admission Requirements


For postgraduate taught programmes (Master’s degrees), you’ll need:

Reference Letter: At least one academic or professional reference.

Bachelor’s Degree: A recognized honours degree (minimum of Second Class Lower or equivalent) in a related discipline.

English Language Proficiency:

IELTS score of 6.0 – 6.5, depending on the course.

Alternatively, WAEC/NECO English Language can be accepted for Nigerian applicants.

Academic Transcripts: Official university transcripts showing completed courses and grades.

Personal Statement / Statement of Purpose: Describing your academic background, interests, and reasons for choosing Dundee.

PhD / Research Programmes


Applicants for research-based degrees should provide:

Proof of English Language Proficiency (IELTS 6.5 overall or equivalent).

A Master’s Degree or Equivalent Qualification in a relevant field.

Detailed Research Proposal outlining the intended area of study and objectives.

Two Academic References.

  2. Prepare Your Documents: Include your academic transcripts, passport, reference, and personal statement.
  3. Apply Online: Submit your application through the University of Dundee’s online portal or via Raa GoStudy Consult for free guidance.
  4. Receive an Offer: Once your application is reviewed, you’ll receive either a conditional or unconditional offer.
  5. Pay Deposit & Secure CAS: Pay your £5,000 tuition deposit to receive your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) for visa application.
